    Default Home Directory Burning Question

    Hello everyone,
In WHM where you define the home directory for all accounts created I have /home/public_html

can this be changed to /home without screwing up all the domains on the server or is this a no no?

    Anyone , please respond !

    Thanks,
    Tom

If you mean the "Home Directory Prefix:" in "Edit Setup", it's supposed to be just "home". The public_html directory is automatically added when a site is created.

    thanks for replying..
I mean the one above the prefix, where you put the directory in
the home directory prefix is set to home
but the directory above that in WHM is set to /home/public_html

I was wondering if I can change that back to the default /home
without screwing up all the domains on the server.

Even that one, "Default Home Directory:", should be set to /home. Yours is set to /home/public_html?

Are your user directories currently right under the /home directory? That's how they should be. If they are, there should be no change if you set it to /home since that's what it normally is.

Even if it does change anything, it should only affect new accounts, not existing ones.
