    Default Host access control not working

    Hello! I have the host access control in WHM set up to "deny all" except my IP for ssh, ftp, cpanel and whm.. but I still get these emails:

    3 failed login attempts to account admin (system) -- Large number of attempts from this IP:

    If I go to a friends house it seems to work and won't let me access Cpanel or WHM to even attempt to login.. so how are they attempting to login over and over? Am I missing something or are these two sepperate things?

    What is the exact protocol they are using to log into the system? It sounds like the account is the admin user, but without the log details, I'm not certain which service was being attempted.
