Hotlinking and Image Redirection: Possible?

I'd really love it if I were able to set my CPanel page up so it works like this particular page, from impawards

Now, here's now it works. Somebody hotlinks a picture found from google search.

So it's a movie poster. In about 10 minutes, it turns into this:

At least on the page. If you right-click the properties, it'll still direct you to the first source. I've tried a lot of combinations in the hotlink protection, but all I've ever gotten are red X's.

I don't mind people hotlinking, as long as I can get a little free advertising in. Does CPanel support this in any capacity? I've done some searching on these forums, and I haven't really found a definitive answer of whether it's possible or not.
