How to backup mailman lists

Hi there, I need to provide some of my customers with a way to backup their mailman lists in any reliable way so the list may be easily restorable in case of general restore of the entire site. the problem is that their packages have not enough free space to store a full backup made via cpanel.
Can I simply download the lists via ssh?
