How to change the main server's IP address?

Hi, how can I change our main server's IP address pool via WHM? Is it even possible or do I have to edit some files via ssh/cli? Is there any side effects if I was succefull in changing the main server's IP?

IIRC, you can use the IP Migration tool in WHM for accounts if they're using it, but you still have to manually change the OS files, e.g. if it's on eth0 on Linux:

/etc/sysconfig/network
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0

You then need to restart the network service or reboot (if you restart network remotely you may need console access to get it up again if it doesn't start up, though).

Changing the main server IP will break your cpanel licence as far as I know, you'll need to arrange to regenerate that, I'd think?

Yup, indeed. You would need to ensure that your cPanel license provider has licensed it for the new IP address before making the change.
