Question How to change package without upgrading account

    Hi,

I would like to update a hosting package I'm already using for several accounts by upgrading its disk space allocation from 10gig to 20gig.

However, I don't want all current accounts having this package to be automatically upgraded to this new package, because some accounts have been customized somewhat (for example, addon domains added using the "Modify account" feature after initial account creating) and setting package seems to lose that extra data.

Any ideas how I can do this?

    Thanks!

    Emil

cPanel/WHM's package functionality is designed so that all accounts under the package should have the same specs. This means editing a package means all accounts will receive the same limits.

If you want different different accounts to have different limits, I recommend not having them assigned to a package.

You can actually edit the package files directly in /var/cpanel/packages/. However, it won't update existing user accounts (this is what you want) and it's not supported by cPanel for the reasons cPanelDavidG mentions.
