how to check rdns

i was told that i my hostname must resolve to my primary ip.
so i Added an A Entry for for my hostname with the correct ip. and when i go to view ip usage. its showing two hostname beside my primary ip. one is mine and i don't know why the other hostname is there.

so how can i check if my vps hostname is resolving to the my primary ip???? thanks

Your thread topic is asking a different question than you have asked in the thread . Let me answer both:

ReverseDNS means that IP should resolve to a fully qualified domain name. e.g if you have an ip address 10.11.12.13 and it has reverseDns setup to server.domain.com then when you check reversedns for 10.11.12.13 IP, it will show you the server.domain.com. You can check ReverseDNS by multiple ways. Simplest way is to check at following sites:

http://www.iptools.com/

how can i check if my vps hostname is resolving to the my primary ip

You can check this by doing a ping test to your vps hostname. These two sites also provide the ping tests.
