    How do I upgrade OpenSSL 0.9.7h 0.9.7a ?

    WHM says my version is insecure.

    just run /scripts/upcp

    it will update it

    As has been mentioned in other threads (search) this may or may not be an issue. RedHat, for instance, back-ports fixes to some previous versions. I'm running RedHat 9, my system shows the same problem you report, but it's not actually broken.

    It won't. It has to be manually compiled from source.

    You can download the source tarball from http://www.openssl.org/source/ and upgrade manually.

    You can easily break things by manually upgrading openssl, especially if should not (i.e. you're using a supported OS in which case there is no reason at all for upgrading it). You need to carefully follow the installation procedure and also consider the affect on apache builds, ssh and other apps that use the openssl libraries.
