How do you install and configure mod_security ?
Hello !
![]() I have a server which is running with WHM/Cpanel. I would like to install mod_security on my server. But how can I achieve this ? - I've seen there is a "Manage plugins" section, but it says "This is deprecated. Use easyapache3 to install mod_security as it is now supported without having to use the addon interface in easyapache3" but I don't understand what is said. How do I access easyapache3 ? - Is it possible, and a good idea, to install mod_security without using WHM/CPanel for the installation ? Thank you !

Yes, it is possible to install mod_security without using WHM installation:
You will need to download & install mod_security manually from the below mentioned URL: ModSecurity: Open Source Web Application Firewall - Download |

make sure you are using a decent and up to date ruleset with mod security, gotroot's are pretty good:
