how to install pureftp?

doesnt work...
no ftp running
i have installed whm release version.... but no ftpd running!

when I try to restart it in whm:

Attempting to restart ftpserver
Waiting for ftpserver to restart.... . . . . . . . . . . finished.

Ftp server is not installed. Exiting. at /scripts/RestartSrv.pm line 196.
ftpserver status


ftpserver has failed, please contact the sysadmin.
