    Post How to make backup?

    Hi all!

I have a dedicated server with RedHat Linux, WHM and cPanel. I wonder how I can make a backup of the complete server (including accounts, mysql, etc.) using a script or via WHM/cPanel?!

I want to make backup and download & store it on my local computer.

Can anybody help me? How can I do that?!

    Thank you very much ...

go to the WHM Backup configuration.

If you have a secondary harddrive, make a directory named backup at / partition and mount that to the secondary disk partition. Give this as the backup destination in the WHM backup conf area. Select daily, weekly and monthly options.

The above mentioned method only backs up user accounts and mysql dirs, to back up the server in its entirety you will need some form of disk imaging software and more than likely physical access to the server

Actually, the above method (using WHM's backup server feature) will back up additional data on the server, not just user accounts and MySQL.

If you have the resources to do so, disk imaging isn't a bad solution however you will be spending much disk space in the backing up of the Operating System and software rather than purely backing up data. Disk imaging is something I don't usually suggest unless you intend to migrate to an identical web server.

Note: not included in a server backup are WHM settings such as Packages, Feature Lists, Tweak Settings etc.

Speaking of which, is there anything planned for items such as those listed above?
