    Default how to monitor traffic on my server?

    Dear All;

    I just got a bill from my co-location and they charged my 150GB.
    three times more than last month!

    How do I monitor my server eth0 total bandwidth so i can be sure
    the traffic report is right?

    Is there any good program out there counting traffic from your eth0 for each month?

    no it can take info frm any source and generate the graphs, e.g http://stats.johnt.me.uk was generated from parsing the output from sar have a look at http://forums.burst.net/showthread.php?threadid=668 for a sample mrtg config howto

    I got that mrtg thing working with my linux box.
    thanks.

    but one more thing, what is that rrdtool and 14all.cgi?

    Is there any addon script so that the trafffic (bandwidth) value can be stored each day so i know exactly my montly usage?

    rrdtool is a app which can be used as a alternative way to create the graphs so that the files do not get large over time , 14all.cgi is a script which actually uses rrdtool to produce the assoicated graphics / html files

    For the monthly script you may like to look in the mrtg contrib dir or at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/raq/message/1960

    That is a nice configuration. Works great on our RH 7.3 systems. I am going to try it on one of our RH8 systems now.

    Didn't work so far on our RH8 box screens and screens of UTF and Library errors.
