How to reset WHM root password

Hi All,

I'm a beginniner still learning things...

Is the root account for WHM the same as the root account I use to shell in with using SSH with Putty?

When I login to WHM using root as the user all I see is a blank white screen. I reset my root password using the 'passwd' command, thinking that perhaps I had the wrong WHM password and my IP is now firewalled or something.

If WHM root password is different, how can I reset it through shell?

thank you.

Yes, if the username you used to login to WHM was root.
