How to UNDO "point old domain towards new" when transferring accounts

I'm migrating to a new server, and for the first time used the WHM "express transfer" option and "point old domain towards new."

The problem is, now I can't access the OLD server via WHM, SSH, etc. How do I go about undoing this?

EDIT: Resolved. It's been a long few days, and apparently I'm brain-dead. When the DNS is changed/forwarded in cPanel/WHM, it changed the hostname DNS from the old server.

and remember you can always use the IP address http://iport to access any server regardless of DNS.

So true Panic got the better of me...

I thought I wasn't able to access the old server by SSH...and then (after a shower a few minutes away from the screen), I realized I'd been trying to access it via an old SSH profile. The server crashed and the DC changed my login port, etc.

Have I mentioned it's been a loooong week?

been there done that 2 times now (the long week) that works out to 11 days straight with 2 hour naps every 30 hours or so. You get used to it and you have to learn these things happen and not to panic.

about 2 years ago I was moving a hand full of servers to new hardware and everything was completed and running fine one the new boxes. Well it was time for me to give the old servers back to the datacenter. I ALWAYS run shred on the drives prior to release. Well I assumed that all my SSH profiles were set up using IPs. Well one of my old profiles was pointing to a domain and NOT the old server IP . Let's just say that running shred on a brand new server you just transferred 100 accounts to the day before is NOT a good idea.

These sort of things happen when you need sleep and you are in or just getting out of a panic. I have to admit. That the server management companies have an advantage. They don't panic like we do. It's not their server you know. LOL
