Default How to unpack an ftp backup account

I have my accounts backed up to another machine via ftp, now the day has come when I need to unpack an account on to the second machine ( the remote ftpbackup machine) so thinking this will be easy I move and rename one account into /home so I can run /scripts/restorepkg username .

The back up is a tar ball(username.tar.gz) so I did this

    mv username.tar.gz/home/cpmove-username.tar.gz

    then ran /scripts/restorepkg username

    get this error

    ExtractingDomain ..done
sorry the copy failed unable to find the cpanel user file..

    Any clues ?

I'm not familiar with that process. Just a guess:

    Copy to /backups/cpbackup/daily/

THen use WHM to restore that backup.
