I recommend only doing one at a time. You can upgrade PHP to version 5 by going to WHM -> Software -> Apache Update and following the on-screen instructions and when you get to the step where you can choose which PHP version(s) to run, check the box for PHP. Concurrent PHP setups where you run PHP 4 and 5 simultaneously are supported.

Ensure everything is working after this process before upgrading MySQL.

Upgrading to MySQL 5 is a bit more difficult, and a full database backup is strongly encouraged prior to the upgrade as databases cannot be readily downgraded to MySQL 4.1 after 5 has been installed. Simply go to WHM -> Server Configuration -> Tweak Settings and scroll down to the MySQL section. You will see a setting for which MySQL version to use. Select 5.0 and click save.

Now go back to that same page (WHM -> Server Configuration -> Tweak Settings -> MySQL) and read the instructions on how to update MySQL. It is easy, but please follow the instructions carefully to ensure a full installation.

Has anyone got a template (profile) for PHP 5, that can share with me?

I'm going to upgrade to php 5 (apache 2.2) and need a set up tried and tested modules for apache as well as the most comprehensive set of options for php.

I'm also going to enable phpsu, but I'm not sure how much it affects usability. Have you had any broken scripts, etc as a result of it?

    Thanks a lot!
