index.html should already work as the default page if you've uploaded it into /home/username/public_html location where username is the cPanel username. If for some reason it isn't working, you can put this into the .htaccess file in public_html location:
Code:DirectoryIndex index.html

You can upload your site using FTP, FrontPage or WebDAV (also known as WebDisk in Windows). Your host should be your first line of support, and would be in the best position to tell you exactly how to upload your site.
In addition to contacting your host, you may find the following section of our documentation helpful:
FTP Accounts

You are going to be a heck of a lot more specific because that basically tells us nothing.
That is not a problem. It is an Apache information line reported by the server.
How, exactly, are you trying to upload your site? Are you using FTP, or something else? Did you place your site files in the public_html subdirectory in your account's home directory? (The www subdirectory is not actually a directory itself; it is a symlink to public_html. If you uploaded files to www, they were placed in public_html.)
Also, what are the ownerships and permissions of your index.html file?
Have you already tried contacting your host? Your host would be in the best position to assist you, since he has direct access to the server.
