It's probably a bug in the distribution (they didn't upgrade the version number correctly). It wouldn't have anything to do with how you upgraded![]()

I just went through the whole process myself again, using my own HOWTO and it worked OK
I would guess so. You have to be carefull not to cut&paste more than a line at a time from the HOWTO as there are often questions asked. Onc answered, any subsequent pastes from the same batch are lost.hmm... not able to execute the UPGRADE file... just shows me some syntax info and instructions concerning a TAR or RPM..

Have a look for /usr/mailscanner/etc/reports/en/languages.conf.new and rename it to /usr/mailscanner/etc/reports/en/languages.conf/usr/mailscanner/etc/reports/en/languages.conf

When i start MailScanner i receive the following error:
: Could not read Custom Functions directory /opt/MailScanner/lib/MailScanner/CustomFunctions![]()
Could anybody help me, please?
It's mentioned in the HOWTO:
"At this point you should edit MailScanner.conf and make any modifications that you want to new settings added by the upgrade.
In particular, search the file for "Custom Functions Dir" and change the value from /opt/MailScanner/blah to /usr/mailscanner/blah"

I looked for /opt/MailScanner in MailScanner.conf but I didn't find lines with this path??
If you look in MailScanner.conf again, what is the full line that contains this line start contain:
Custom Functions Dir

I had a look another time but I didn't find this line.
Could you tell me how this line is shown in config file?
i have the same problem. heeeeeeeeeeeelp :P
I'm afraid I don't know. I can only guess that you missed out a step. I would suggest backing it off and trying again:
mv mailscanner mailscanner.duff
mv mailscanner.old mailscanner
Then start again.

can you copy the line that sets the custom functions directory for me?
Certainly, from /usr/mailscanner/etc/MailScanner.conf:
Custom Functions Dir = /usr/mailscanner/lib/MailScanner/CustomFunctions
