is the httpd/conf/extra/* stuff deprecated in latest EA3?

I'd like to know if the httpd/conf/extra/* files have been deprecated in the latest EA3, because when we rebuild the httpd.conf, it no longer includes those files. Instead, it uses the WHM "Apache Setup"->"Include Editor" feature.

I looked at the templates, at the documentation and the forum and i couldn't find any mention that the "extra" subdir has been deprecated in favour of the Include Editor.

Anyone knows whats going on?

There is no reference to this 'conf/extra' folder in any current version of the product, nor any dating back to cPanel 10.9.

I don't quite understand whats going on, pre-EA3 things worked this way fine (apache 2.2) and when EA3 came, the "conf/extra" was used as before. I guess EA3 changed the "default" behaviour.

My conf dir contains the following subdirs:

extra/
includes/
original/
sites/
ssl.crl/
ssl.crt/
ssl.csr/
ssl.key/
ssl.prm/

based on what you say the "extra/" subdir is not used in EA3, i do know that from WHM i can edit the files in the "include/" subdir.

could you please tell us about the rest if they are used or not?

You can set the MPM directives in one of the Include files (there is an Include editor in WHM).

As for the other directories, most are made by the Apache install. The ones that are used for a cPanel configured Apache are:

sites -> stores vhost fragments for FrontPage
original -> contains the original contents of conf/ as created by the installation of Apache
includes -> stores the include files used/created by the Includes Editor in WHM.

The ssl directories are not used, although they should contain the files created by the installation of Apache.
