Hello All,

My server goes down very frequently, thrice in two weeks. The server is pingable but i cant SSH nor does apache and ultimately i have to reboot the server through (APC).

After the server is up and i cheked the logs for apache :

[Wed Dec 10 03:28:09 2003] [crit] (98)Address already in use: make_sock: could not bind to port 443
[Wed Dec 10 03:28:09 2003] [notice] Apache/1.3.29 (Unix) mod_auth_passthrough/1.8 mod_log_bytes/1.2 mod_bwlimited/1.2 PHP/4.3.3 FrontPage/5.0.2.2634 mod_ssl/2.8.16 OpenSSL/0.9.6b configured -- resuming normal operations
[Wed Dec 10 03:28:09 2003] [notice] suEXEC mechanism enabled (wrapper: /usr/local/apache/bin/suexec)
[Wed Dec 10 03:28:09 2003] [notice] Accept mutex: sysvsem (Default: sysvsem)

the get the same log after every reboot.

when i do ps auxwwwwf

I get only one httpd <defunct> (Zombie) process. so i do a restart and its fine again.

I searched for the DEFUNCT on cpanel and ev1 forums but didnt found any solution to this.

I have set logrotate for domlogs, i dont have anu quota issue, My error log is 17 MB.
