Apace shows started when done in SSH
but shows failed in WHM and no pages load ever since trying to install GD
I have since retried without the GD and also restored the apache as default with no luck..

tails dont show anything wrong...


Any suggestions?

I had this issue on a VPS a few days back, try this:

Code:

iptables --flush
service httpd restart - Or restart in WHM.

If not then you really need someone to take a look at your server to correct the problem, there isn't really enough info.

Configtest shows systax ok

When I attempt /etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd start , shows started, but when I do restart or stop a second later, shows its not running.. Kill shows no processes running..

WHM, shows the same

Just did a reboot, same.. trying easyapaceh through SSH now

Are you building Apache through WHM or Easyapache? I have always had more luck using Easyapache in SSH.

Try rebuilding with the verbose option set to see if any errors occur during the building of PHP.
