    Question HTTPS does not work

    Hello,
I am totally new in web, please help me to understand why https does not work.

I have installed the SSL from SSL/TLS Manager on example.com. The certificate is visible In the Certificates on Server table. But https does not work. What I need to do create .htaccess or something else? I am trying to open https://example.com but it does not happen.

Please make sure that you have assigned the dedicated IP address to the domain where you have installed SSL certificate.

What is the error that you get when accessing https://example.com?

Make sure that the domain is on a dedicated IP and then try re-installing the certificate.

It is possible that the SSL certificate is uploaded but may not yet be actively installed; if it is actively installed then an SSL virtual host is created for the Apache/httpd web server configuration.

Via the SSL/TLS Manager in cPanel, the following feature can be used to activate and create the new SSL virtual host:

    cPanel: Main >> Security >> SSL/TLS Manager
    * Activate SSL on Your Web Site (HTTPS): Setup a SSL certificate to work with your site.

If the SSL host is active then on the above page there will be a button labeled "Delete Host" -- this is an indication that setup of the SSL host was already completed; however, if the link for "Activate SSL" is not available (i.e., hidden) in the cPanel SSL/TLS Manager then that indicates the install function is available only to the server administrator via WHM.

If access to WHM is available, then the following instruction will help.

To check if the SSL certificate is fully installed with an active SSL virtual host, please access WHM and navigate to the following feature and verify if the desired SSL host is listed:
WHM: Main >> SSL/TLS >> Manage SSL Hosts
    Documentation: Manage SSL Hosts

If there is not yet the desired entry in list of the Installed SSL Hosts (as seen via WHM Manage SSL Hosts) then the following feature may be used to ensure the SSL Host is fully installed:
WHM: Main >> SSL/TLS >> Install a SSL Certificate and Setup the Domain
Documentation: Install a SSL Certificate and Setup the Domain
