Question https webmail cpanel

Good Morning Experts,

I have installed an SSL certificate on "http://www.mydomain.com" and tested that "https://www.mydomain.com" works (and it does). In addition, just for good measure, I tested it with my ip and it works as well.

Now, when I type in "http://www.mydomain.com/webmail", I get the usual prompt BUT when I type in "https://www.mydomain.com/webmail", I get a "Connection refused" box (in Netscape 7.1). I then tried "https://www.mydomain.com:2087" and "https://ip.address.here.:2087" and it still doesn't work!? Am I missing something here? Should I be modifying the httpd.conf file for apache? I am running the latest version of cpanel/whm.

In addition, for those of you who have run into the same problem, I cannot access whm though the secure port.

You help and expertise are very much appreciated.

Lamp.

webmail and https

Try
https://www,yourdomain.com:2096
and see what you get.

You can use WHM to set cPanel webmail to atuomatically shift to https for any webmail call, thus placing
yourdomain.com/webmail/
as the URL will redirect to a secure version of the webmail
