    Default I NEED some help please...will pay!

    Hello everyone...

    I rebooted my server this morning and all hell broke loose. The machine came back up, but was inaccessible. I had the data center get ssh set back up so we could get in it and Eric has been helping a little. The problem is, this machine has been down all day! Lots of money has been lost due to this and there is no urgency in the cpanel support.

    I need someone to help me get this machine back up quickly. Here is my latest post to my support ticket:

    =================================
    Ok...now I can see the services and things look like they're getting close, however, BIND is having problems. I get this error when restarting named:

    stopping named: rndc: connect failed: connection refused

    I have gone through changing the rndc-key to rndckey as stated in a fix on the forums, but that didn't work.

    Also, the services EXIM and FTP are not working and will not start.

    help! I've officially become the villan today to all my clients!
    =================================

    I will pay for help. I just need this up today!

    Thanks in advance!
    Ron

    Hey I appreciate the offer guys....I was able to pinpoint the problem.

    Somehow all of my db's were deleted!

    All of the /var/named *.db files .... GONE

    All of my mysql databases .... GONE

    Has anyone ever heard of this happening? Could cpanel have had anything to do with this?

    Shockingly enough, cpanel support has come through with flying colors! I'm really second guessing this software. With the forced updates that were bad and worthless support, it's hard to justify every using it on new servers!

    if anyone has heard of this mysterious disappearnce of db files, let me know.

    Also, if anyone knows of an easy way to recreate all of these accounts (/home/dirs are all still there) and their *.db files, PLEASE let me know. Unfortunately the cpanel backup was disabled because I have a backup through my datacenter. It's just like pulling teeth to get their butts in gear.

    Thanks again...
    Ron
