ikonboard broken by DBI update

I (and many others on different servers) have suddenly begun to get this error from ikonboard. It happens every single time.

Modification of a read-only value attempted

This error was reported at: /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi/DBI.pm line 279, line 64.


Various people have said this is due to the latest update of the DBI module 1.48 to 1.49 though I know little about this and less about how to deal with it.

Well I am happy to say that my problem is solved because in the meantime my host decided to upgrade perl from 5.8.0 to 5.8.7 which did solve the problem. I count myself lucky to have such good support in a crisis.
