importing awstats help

Hello guys, this must of been posted before, but i cannot find anything...

I am transfering a domain name from another server, and it has 7GB log file, and this is the first time i am using cpanel with my new server...

Could someone please direct me to where i need to move my log file on the new server and import it so awstats work correctly?

awstats files are here in the user account:

/tmp/awstats

You might want to check under the "raw access logs" section of cPanel for this user to see if they have "Archive Logs...." ticked. This log is different and can be killed IMHO, it grows much larger than the awstats logs.

Oh sorry, i have the access log file, from my old server which is 7gig

I have found that the access logs on this new server with cpanel can be found on: /usr/local/apache/domlogs/domain.com

But in that folder the "new" access log has started, so how would i merge my old file into this new one so it updates after 24hrs without messing anything up?

And out of curiousity, does cpanel clear the access log files after updating them to awstats by default so the files do not get so big?

This behavior can be controlled in WHM -> Server Configuration -> Tweak Settings -> Stats and Logs by checking/unchecking Delete each domain's access logs after stats run then clicking save at the bottom of the page.
