incorrect ip usage/ hostname sharing IP

I have two IP addresses, I was under the impression that xxx.xxx.xxx.1 was used for my hostname and my primary nameserver and that everything else on this box was under xxx.xxx.xxx.2. However after looking at it in depth despite the fact that my DNS records are correct. the system shows me as having 1 spare IP address and that the hostname is linked to the second IP.

I also can't delete this IP (probably because it is in use) and i can't reserve it from IP functions.

how can i resolve/ fix some of these issues.

I have exactly the same problem. The first nameserver IP that auto assigned looks different from the rest in the pool, and the ns2 name server was given the same IP as the server itself.

I thought the second IP would auto assign to the first nameserver.

Anyway good luck finding a solution.
