Default Incremental or tar backups... whihc is better?

Im wondering whats the better option as far as cpanel backups go?

We are tarballing and using Chirpy's 7 day rotating backup script but im wondering if incrementals are better?

We are finding a lot of nights backups arent being performed on all accounts or some seem to get missed constantly

it all seems a bit flakey, and this isnt just on one or 2 servers we seem to see these issues across about 20 of our servers so far...

    any comments or suggestions?

It sounds like your backup process may be shutting down due to load issues. Incremental is always lightest and "better" for my use. Incremental requires a lot of space as the files are not compressed but they only backup files that have changed and not the the entire account.

If you have the room, go with incremental.
