    Default Insecure Kernel

I got this at the top of WHM news today. I've never seen it - or noticed it before:

You are running an insecure kernel (2.4.18-27.8.0). You should upgrade to a newer version as soon as possible to avoid your system being compromised.

Can someone point me to a walk-through of how to upgrade the kernal? Thank you.

This "howto" is for RH only.

I know how to do kernel makes (i.e. MANUAL kernel makes) whicih are better than following what RedHat has.

I just have to make sure I am doing all correctly else I have an unbootable system :-D

    To update kernel,
    /usr/sbin/up2date --nox -f kernel

Must have your own account at rhn.
    To get that type rhn_register
    Follow the steps.

    After everythings all done, reboot.

Yeah.. I don't have a RH system here, so... It's a Mandrake system, so I will have to see about probably doing myself the manual way, and testing it the lilo reboot way (I.e. reboot and if it works, set it as permanent else push the rack port off and back on to get back into old one)
