Installing Ruby on rails

Hi, I;m trying to setup Ruby with the scripts noted here WebHome < AllDocumentation/RubyonRails < TWiki

however when I check yum to see if I have the packages available I get:

yum list ruby
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
* base: mirrors.bluehost.com
* updates: mirrors.cat.pdx.edu
* addons: ftp.osuosl.org
* extras: mirrors.liquidweb.com
Excluding Packages in global exclude list
Finished
Error: No matching Packages to list

In the past I have added mirrors but I am very hesitant to do so on a live server. Anyone got a safe way to get the packages I need?
