Installing WordPress

I was trying to install WordPress via Fantastico into the root directory of my site (by leaving the field blank) and I got the following message:

The installation can not be completed:

- You cannot install more than one script in the root directory of a domain.

I'm not sure what that means. How can I tell what scripts are running?

It means you cannot install 2 or more scripts to the root directory. For some reason, it thinks you are running a script in your root directory already.

I recommend contacting your hosting provider regarding this issue - or if you have root access to the server, contact the folks at Fantastico about this.

If you don't know what root access is, you likely don't have it.
