IP address usage

I just started using Cpanel from an admins view. I'm completely new at this. Anyway, when I click on 'Show IP Address Usage', it shows all my accounts on the primary IP address, and none on the second IP. My main concern is, is my secondary nameserver working? In the IP list, my secondary IP doens't have anything listed. Is this normal? How do I know my secondary nameserver works?

Your primary IP is by default the one used for all shared IP accounts. Your secondary IP isn't used for accounts unless it has a dedicated IP which can be that one.

Does it matter if they all use the same IP? Is there a performance benefit to using the secondary / or a dedicated IP?

A dedicated IP is needed for reasons like having their own SSL certificate. There appears to be no real limit to how many accounts can be on one shared IP. I remember another thread where someone said they had over 1000 accounts on the one IP.
