Default Jailed Shell Error (Argument "\n" isn't numeric)

    Hi

When i set a user to Jailed Shell in whm the users gets the following error when loging in.

    Argument "\n" isn't numeric in numeric lt (<) at /usr/local/cpanel/bin/setupvirtfs line 279, <$file_fh> line 365.
    -jailshell-3.2$

If i set the shell to a normal shell everything works fine, but normal users should not have full shell.

Anyone know howto fix this issue?

This only happens on one cpanel server, version (11.28.76)

    Hello,

Can you try upgrading your cPanel to the stable version?

I upgraded the server to the latest release version, the problem is still there.
Downgrading it to stable messes with some horde settings and i do not wish to do that.

Besides both release and stable should be fully functional in a production environment.

You might want to put in a ticket to cPanel support if you believe this to be a bug. There's a link on top of every page of the forums titled "Bugs" that should take you to the proper form.

In looking at the setupvirtfs script the lines in question are reading from /etc/passwd (or /etc/group). You might want to check both /etc/passwd and /etc/group for invalid data. Specifically it appears there is either a literal \n or a new line in the first field of one of the entries.
