I got his message this morning. Everything appears to be running normally. What should I do?

I would be HIGHLY suspicious of such a notice... one referring you to a remote URL.. either they just want to sell you something (spam) or by making use of their service, you install a trojan on your server, allowing them to exploit it (most likely FOR spamming purposes) Call me paranoid but I would ignore these "notices" or report them as spam....

if you check closely- you may notice there are several exploits possible with an older kernel, and RedHat has gone to the unusual measure of upgrading a kernel to another level for this issue. (I suggest checking at redhat for updated kernel 2.40.XXXX)


I'd just update Kernel to the latest version (visit RedHat for more info... all my info is at home)

The notice is generated when cpanel does it's nightly update. If you were to look through your /var/log/messages file you will see the message that prompted the "OOPS" email.

Oh? Hmm interesting.. never got one.. this is what caught me.. the fact it was an e-mail... (would you believe the number of spam mails I get daily that look just like this, only they have malicious or financial intent??)
