    Default Kernal Update

Hey guys I am fairly new and understand that when you perform a server kernal upgrade it can be dangerous. When I log on to the root manager I get this message:

You are running an insecure kernel (2.4.20-8). You should upgrade to a newer version as soon as possible to avoid your system being compromised. https://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2003-417.html

Not sure what I am suppossed to do exactly and hope someone can help me.

    Thanks:

    Kevin

    Here's one to start:
    http://forums.cpanel.net/showthread....upgrade+kernel

Once Redhat quits supporting RH9 you can do it with
    rpm -Uvh <kernel>
after downloading the appropriate kernel from Legacy.

This is, of course, assuming that you are on Redhat.

    --edit--

I can see from the information that you're on Redhat 8, correct? Get the latest kernel for RH8 from http://download.fedoralegacy.org/red...egacy.i386.rpm

Trying to use up2date and get the following error

    root@earth [//usr/sbin]# up2date -l
    Traceback (most recent call last):
    File "/usr/sbin/up2date", line 9, in ?
    import rpm
    ImportError: No module named rpm

    Thanks
    Zach
