kernel update problem

Hi all
when i tried to update kernel on server <rh 9> i get more error so i want to uninstall all kernel thats i installed and return install again can u help me quickly plz ..... another thing i would like kow how i know my prosessor kind i386 or i686.
i want to access server GUI. how i can do it ?!

1. What are the errors?
2. What kernel were you running?
3. Are you using grub or lilo?
4. Paste the grub/lilo config.
5. Paste your /boot directory
6. What kind of machine is it? What processor?

Have you updated the kernel or installed a new kernel if you have installed a new kernel by rpm -ivh kernel, you need to just change the preference in the /etc/grub.conf or /etc/lilo.conf. If you give any idea we can help you out.
