cron.daily usually runs at 4 a.m.
Check /etc/cron.daily/ to see what things run every day at 4 a.m.
Yup. Most likely /scripts/upcp which updates cPanel and runs your backups.

As mentioned below, whatever scripts are in /etc/cron.daily usually run at 4 a.m. The updatedb program is the most server intensive, but the spike in the load usually only lasts about 20 - 30 minutes.Originally posted by c9net
