Local Mail Delivery Problem

I've noticed this error in the 'var/log/maillog', and was wondering if anybody knew how to correct it.

Nov 22 17:15:39 Orion spamc[24359]: connect(AF_INET) to spamd at 127.0.0.1 failed, retrying (#1 of 3): Connection refused
Nov 22 17:15:40 Orion spamc[24359]: connect(AF_INET) to spamd at 127.0.0.1 failed, retrying (#2 of 3): Connection refused
Nov 22 17:15:41 Orion spamc[24359]: connect(AF_INET) to spamd at 127.0.0.1 failed, retrying (#3 of 3): Connection refused

I've searched through the forums, however I haven't been about to find a solution.
I think this error is affecting local deliverability of emails.

When I send an email from a local domain, I get it returned with this error:

Reporting-MTA: dns; sccmmhc91.asp.att.net
Arrival-Date: 22 Nov 2006 23:51:22 +0000

Final-Recipient: rfc822; <test@mydomain.com>

I'm using MailScanner, and ClamAV, installed professionally by Chirpy.

Any suggestions as to the problem would greatly appreciated.
