Default Logging out then in again automatically logs me out (again)

Does anyone else get this problem?

    - log in to cPanel
    - click "Logout" in top right
    - when the username/password dialogue comes up again, log in again (doesn't matter if it's the same or a different user)
    - you are redirected back to the "You have logged out" page and are logged out

This has always been a minor annoyance for me, but today it's become more of an issue. A customer of mine has to log in to multiple webmail accounts for his website and after the 5th webmail login, my firewall is automatically blocking him for failing 5 logins, even though he hasn't actually failed any.

I assume the reason this happens is that when you logout, you are taken to http://your.server.here.com:2083/logout/?, and then when you log back in it redirects you to the last page you were on, which is the logout page, so you get logged out again.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

I am unable to replicate this issue. I recommend submitting a support ticket so we can determine the cause of this issue: http://tickets.cPanel.net/submit

This does happen periodically when using the default authentication mechanism. If you switch to using form ( cookie ) based authentication this doesn't occur.

A report on this behavior is now filed with the developers.
