trouble shooting why logrotate hangs I ran logrotate -d /etc/logrotate.conf and it stops at reading config info for /var/log/wtmp

I tried commenting out the wtmp stuff in /etc/logrotate.conf and same trouble.

I did already, came up with same conclusion, nothing found to tell us why it takes so long to process.

Update.
I logged into another server I had. I looked at the /var/lib/logrotate.status. On the server the logrotate /etc/logrotate.conf ran fast on the file was really small and on this server having trouble it was huge. So I cut the file size down and guess what logrotate /etc/logrotate.conf ran almost instantly.


I knwe there had to be something wrong. Oh well, lots of wasted hours on this one.
