Logs rotated at 10pm on Aug 31, why doesn't it wait until the end of the day?
The error log shows only has like 30 errors in it is suppose to show the last 300 errors, where are the rest of them?

Logrotate is run as part of cron.daily and will be executed in alphabetical order. Either you have other jobs running before it that are taking a long time and logrotate is running extremely late, or you have changed the time in /etc/crontab (on Linux) that cron.daily runs.
