Unhappy Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender

    Hello Everyone!

I am trying to determine why I am getting large amounts of Mail delivery failed: returning message to sender e-mails.

This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

    liquidweb@domain_sent_to.com
    (generated from root@host.SENDING-DOMAIN.com)
SMTP error from remote mailer after MAIL FROM:<root@host.SENDING-DOMAIN.com> SIZE=1608:
    host mail.domain_sent_to.com [xxx.xx.x.xx]: 553 5.1.8 <root@host.SENDING-DOMAIN.com>... Domain of sender address root@host.SENDING-DOMAIN.com does not exist
What is wrong? Is host.SENDING-DOMAIN.com wrong?

The edit setup shows the Hostname: host.SENDING-DOMAIN.com

I am new to this so please be gentle

    Is host.SENDING-DOMAIN.com wrong?

Only the Server Owner (or 'root') can receive eMail with that type address. And whatever "SENDING-DOMAIN.com" is, if it's not the hostname of the Server it will always bounce -- back to 'root'.

Could be you've come across an improperly setup script or someone trying to do something they shouldn't.
