The old server is using the maildir format, the new server is using the older mbox format.

Conversion from mbox to maildir is automatic when transferring, however maildir to mbox is not automatic and, as it is not an option, probably not possible.

Ideally, you should convert the new server to the maildir format before transfering. This can be performed by running /scripts/convert2maildir. This should be very quick on a server with no accounts.

    Preferably, you should:

    1) Remove all accounts from the new server
    2) Run /scripts/convert2maildir on the new server
    3) Transfer the accounts again

This is assuming that accounts are still active on the old server and you have so far only been testing the transfer process.

If everything is still running from the old server, the three steps I listed would probably be the best option.

thanks for the help, I also read that maildir is faster and more efficient so that’s cool
