Copy and paste this as root. It will update the scripts, then run the latest exim 4 install. Then it will fix your mailbox permissions and then re-start the pop3 server.

Hi there,
I'm getting the same problem. I upgraded from cpanel 8.0 edge 55 to 8.2.
Will be interesting to see if this happens to many others or not.
If I find a cure I'll let you know.
cPanel.net Support Ticket Number:
Yep, am not able to send or receive any email since the upgrade.
The fix didn't help also. Could it be the Mailscanner? I instaled it once myself and then mail was lost, too till I removed it (was maybe a conf error).

Hmm. Maybe it is the mailscanner but not sure. How does one remove that anyway?
Thanks.

I don't think mailscanner is the problem. The e-mail can't find the host....

Hi there,
My problem seems to be fixed now as I'm getting email just fine. I test with Yahoo, default address, forwarders, regular email etc and everything works.
The problem is I'm not sure why, but this is what I did.
* I updated the exim script as carluk suggested above.
* I then removed Mailscanner per the following directions. Keep in mind I installed the setup "Exim 4.20 + MailScanner + Clam AV Full Guide for Cpanel 7.x by Mahmoud Kassem"
I then tested some email and everything worked. If at any time you want to disable MailScanner:
cp /etc/exim.conf /etc/exim.conf-mailscanner
cp /etc/exim.conf-BeforeMailScanner /etc/exim.conf
mv /etc/exim_outgoing.conf /etc/exim_outgoing.disable
service MailScanner stop
service exim restart
Finally, I did the opposite of the removal process for mailscanner and put it back. Then restarted exim.
Everything continued to work along with mailscanner again.
So, other than that I can't explain it.

How would you then explain that when I send emails to a working account won't arrive there?Originally posted by cosmin

I tested the account using the email troubleshooter with WHM.

Well, if you go a bit up in the thread you'd see that this was already suggested. However, I tried it again and it still doesn't work.

Same problem here... The default email account does not work (at least not for me) with 8.2.0-RELEASE 2. If you send email to that account you get the "Unrouteable address" email bounce. Email accounts that you created through cPanel seem to work fine though.
I tried the "/scripts/updatenow; /scripts/exim4; /scripts/mailperm; /scripts/restartsrv cppop" trick, but that didn't do anything to solve this issue. Anyone have any other ideas? Thank you.
