    Default mail forwarders...not working completely...

    Ok here's the setup:

    username: bobby
    catchall addy: spam@domain.com

    forwarders-
    one@domain.com --> bobby@domain.com (it was entered into cpanel as "bobby")

    two@domain.com --> user@anotherdomain.com

    three@domain.com --> bobby@hostname.com

    ----------------------------

    Ok - one does not work. Cant find out why.
    two works
    and three works.

    since the address that the mail is being forwarded to in "one" is the username account - I tried to simply enter "bobby" (no quotes) as the receiving addy. That did not work. Also tried bobby@domain.com

    I remember something awhile back about forwarders or something not working right if the catchall addy was set to something other than the username account..

    any ideas?

    Nothing our of the ordinary I don;t think...

    2004-02-10 14:06:06 1Aqe90-0001Pm-BV <= info@devilinside.net U=nobody P=local S=1035
    2004-02-10 14:06:07 1Aqe90-0001Pm-BV => spamaddy <bobby@domain.com> R=virtual_user T=virtual_userdelivery

    that's one of the test emails that didn't get delivered to the bobby addy. It went to the catchall spamaddy.

    Are you able to send to other domains on the server at all?

    For instance, try to create a pop3 account (test2@domain.com) can you send to it from the same domain?

    It almost sounds like it may be a issue with /etc/localdomains

    ok - I setup another account on the domain and that also got forwarded to the spam addy when I emailed it directly to the bobby@domain.com

    so..what would I look for in the localdomains file?

    oh - and yes they can send to other domains on the server as my domain is on the same server.

    If they can send to other domains than that would rule out the localdomains issue.

    Hmm...You can look at the file for the domain at;

    /etc/valiases and make sure bobby@domain is listed
    with its forward address.

    If it is, also try running;

    touch /home/username/mail/inbox ; /scripts/mailperm

    See if that helps.

    checked valiases - and ran the commands you suggested.

    Still not working.

    Could someone try setting this type of configuration up on their box and let me know if it works?

    I'm running 8.8.0 stable 68

    BUMP!

    anyone else care to take a stab at this one?

    I'm really beginning to think it's a cpanel issue....

    Have you got spamassassin running on that domain? If so, try setting up another mailbox for the catchall instead of spam@domain.com.
