mail hosted else where local mails not working

i have a domain on my server the DNS is hosted on dnsmadeeasy.com, the email is hosted by a 3rd party on an exchange server

when i send an email to the domain from a domain on my server that hosts the web site it fails

if i send an email from an email account external to the web site it goes through ok

what i think is happening is when i send one from my server it is looking for the domain locally and trying to deliver the mail locally but the mail is hosted externally.

i hope i am making scense.

any help would be appreciated

remove the domain from /etc/localdomains and add it to /etc/remotedomains
