Default MAIL Issue Need Help ASAP

I cannot send nor recieve emails. I just ran the update on my server and something froze half way through. Whether it was this old work comp or something else. Everything works except mail and also I tried sending myself an email to the server and it bounced back. I have also run the /scripts/exim4 bit and no go. Any help would be awesome. Also, it is connecting fine via my email program. Kinda weird.

    Have you tried restart exim?

    /etc/rc.d/init.d/exim restart

I have some mail in mailq sent from scripts. When I do a "send now" manually I receive that:

Message 1A05xn-0006E6-R5 is no longer frozen
    LOG: MAIN
    ** some@domain.com : Unrouteable address
    LOG: MAIN
    Frozen (delivery error message)
    Return to Mail Queue

    It's time for a downgrade....

    delivering 1CPnuR-00059V-0Q
    LOG: MAIN
lowest numbered MX record points to local host: mydomain.com
    LOG: MAIN
== penny@mydomain.com R=lookuphost defer (-1): lowest numbered MX record points to local host
    LOG: MAIN

    Same error for some here...
lowest numbered MX record points to local host.

What might be the cause of this, and a resolution?

folks i've gotten a bit farther in this problem. I have the solution for the lowest number mx record error. ssh in as root and go to /etc/localdomains and make sure your domain(s) are on that list. if not, add them. then attempt to deliver each email. (it'll work now)

the PROBLEM i'm still having is that every time cpanel runs it's "Fix/rebuild mail db" script which is located lastly in the mail section of the whm, it removes those domains that cpanel doesn't think should be there, which in turn need to be there. That's where i am currently.
