    Default Mail relay

    Hi,

    i get this error:

    <bas@mysite.net>: host mysite.net[xx.xx.xx.xx] said:
550-smtp06.wanadoo.nl [194.134.35.146] is currently not permitted to relay
550-through this server. Perhaps you have not logged into the pop/imap
server 550-in the last 30 minutes or do not have SMTP Authentication turned
on in your 550 email client. (in reply to RCPT TO command)

So i can't receive any e-mail on that domain. The strange thing is my other domains on that server don't have those troubles, only thing different that this account has it own dedicated ip.

Can someone please give me a hint to solve this?

Ok, i have fixed one problem, because i have 3 mailservers.

I added my domain in /etc/localdomains because it wasn't there?

But what must i do for my other servers? /etc/remotedomains doesn't give the proper results?
When i view my mail trouble shooter, it says:

In host list - removed hosts:

    Where can i change this?

    Hi,

It's a little confusing as to what the issue is. If you expect to use email on the server then you should not have that domain in /etc/remotedomains it should only be in /etc/localdomains. You can repopulate /etc/localdomains by running /scripts/mailperm.

You can use any mail servers as backup MX so long as you have correctly configured MX records in your domains zone file and those servers are configured to relay email for the domain. On cPanel servers this means adding the domain to /etc/secondarymx

I will try to explain this some more, but my english is not always the best:

One my primary server (server1) is have setup a domain with mail.

This domain is in /etc/localdomains and works. The e-mail works.

But i have 2 other server who function as a backup server.
Both have the domain in their /etc/secondarymx

But if i test those domains with the mail trobuleshooter, i get the message as attached a couple post before.

So i am wondering if there is someting else that must be done? Because now the 2 backup servers arn't accepting mail for the domain i have setup in /etc/secondarymx

I'm not sure that that feature is entirely reliable, you're probably better off using dnstuff.com or dnsreport.com. Do you have 3 MX records pointing to 3 A records which in turn point to the 3 IP addresses of each server all with different scores for the domain?

    Yes,

Here is my dns report. You can see my first mailserver accepts mail, but the 2 others dont.

Well, you can kick me for this :X

in my secondary mx i added a . after the domain. This will cause it not to work.
The entry in secondarymx should be just plain:

    domain.com

I had read in the howto that it should be domain.com. but that is wrong.

    Now it's working fine. Sorry
