mail relaying or not...

An account on the box is attempting to use php's mail() function to send mail; no problems there. Interesingly though - the mail is never delievered, no errors or anything. The function will allow mail to go to another account on the same box, so we know it's working. It will also deliver to a hotmail account, nowhere else... (which is really odd...) I'm guessing that somewhere I need to allow relaying for local IP's and domains - but I don't know where....

Any pointers or directions to previous threads would be most appreciated!

Sorry I cannot be of much help, but I have heard of this problem before.

A friend has a server with the same problem - he is also trying to find out how to fix it.

In /etc/exim.conf host_accept_relay probably already has localhost setup to allow relay. In /etc/hosts do you have a local host entry?
If you are using a diffrent server for httpd than your are for smtp then you will need to add the other domain into the relay_domains list. This is also in /etc/exim.conf

If you are just having problems sending mail for that user... probably apache or nobody..

exim -bt -d2 test@domainname.net

I have sort of the same problem, except it wont send to any email address outside of the domain account.. well actually mail is recieved through neomail rather than pop3.

I can send or reicived Hotmail's mails. Why? I don't know... Anybody help me?

When I try to send an e-mail to Hotmail (another account) it is in qeue... why? I dont understand it. I tried to do a lot of things but It only hapen with hotmail...

What can I do?
