Default mail send from root rejected

Some noob question I guess, but please...

I installed a new server with cpanel and gave in the setup menu

    hostname : name.domain.com

the server runs fine but whenever it sends a root mail to my email account...

i gets bounced with error :

A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its
recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:

    me@mydomain.com
SMTP error from remote mailer after RCPT TO:<me@mydomain.com>:
    host mydomain.com [XX.XX.XX.XX]: 550-Verification failed for <root@name.domain.com>
    550-unrouteable mail domain "name.domain.com"
    550 Sender verify failed

somewhere I missed something I think but I can't remember what, have looked around but can't find it

so I guess root@name.domain.com should be root@domain.com but I have no clue where I can change it.

Any help would be appreciated in pointing my nose in the good direction.

    thanks

Do you have a DNS A record for name.domain.com and have you given it time for it to propagate round the internet?

I am facing same issue but every thing I mean, /etc/resolv.conf, A record for hostname, /etc/localdomains/ ... is perfectly setup. But still the issue is there.
